I started my career in 2000. I still can't believe I am able to call my passion "work." I wake up everyday ready to give my all to my team and my guests.

I feel like I'm doing exactly what I was meant to do. Connecting with people and helping them find the best version of themselves are experiences that feed my soul.

Being the director of education for our salons Mode Academy gives me the ability to share my skills, knowledge and passion with my team. It really sets the tone in our salon and in our local community.

Hairdressing has taken this "small town guy" around the world. Attending Davines World Wide Hair Tour and Aveda conferences bringing back big ideas and skills from far away places my most recent trainings include hosting Sally Rogerson SR Cutting program, Aveda Beyond Balayage, Freehand Colour with Colour Director Madeleine at Allilon London, Davines classes , Aveda classes and Aveda Dare To Dream conference. As a member of Mode Salons Artistic team I'm able to express my artistry locally on a different stage such as Art Walk, Gainesville Fashion Week and other publications.

I am proud to be Mode Salon’s General Manager. Even though I am not a stylist I strive to insure each guest gets the utmost attention and care. I graduated from the University of Florida in 1998 and ever since have made Gainesville my home. While at the University Of Florida my Entrepreneurial spirit began to emerge. I started two student ran web based businesses that I later sold after graduation. Shortly after graduation one of my classmates Michael Carroll and I purchased an Allstate Insurance Agency in Ocala Florida. Within three years we purchased our second location in Gainesville and have been meeting the insurance needs of Gainesville and Ocala residents ever since, please visit www.TheCarrollAgencies.com for more info.

While I love the Insurance industry, and helping to make sure that my client’s assets and futures are protected, I really wanted to have another business in Gainesville that was more retail based, and still helped to connect me to the community in a personal way. Lonie had been working as a stylist for many years in Gainesville and was known as one of the best. It had always been  his dream to operate a luxury salon in Gainesville and offer the residents here the finest in hair and skin care. In early 2008 that is just what we did. Since Mode Salon opened we have both grown as individuals and the businesses has grown as well. Today we manage two locations Mode East and Mode West both unique but sharing one culture and offering the finest in products from around the world.

I encourage you to visit Lonie’s bio and get a sense of the accomplishments and training that he brings back to our staff to help insure you are receiving the latest and greatest from the beauty industry. We look forward to greeting you and sharing our passion with you for our community, our industry, and life. No matter which location you choose you can rest assured that we are actively involved in all areas from product selection, to advanced training for our stylist to learn and grow, as well as maintaining an ethical low impact business and in creating a warm and welcoming environment for you to enjoy. We look forward to getting to know you, and hope to see you soon.

CLAUDIA

@HairByClaudiaMck

Claudia is exclusively located at our East location on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, my earliest inspiration came from my mother who was a cosmetologist. When we moved to America, my mom and I started a salon in Ocala. During this time, I graduated from Central Florida College for Cosmetology, and acquired a strong foundation in my craft. After joining the Mode team, Lonie became my mentor and infused me with his passion for this industry.

BRENT

Brent was Lonie's assistant for a year, an experience he feels gratitude towards. Working under Lonie helped him achieve a dynamic skill set in hair cutting and blonding.

Brent's expertise is in lived-in blonde looks, including balayage and couture color. Ask for him if you've got curls or natural texture. His cutting roots are in men's cuts and all barbering services.

Working in the hair industry inspires Brent every day, he enjoys that he can work in a field that allows him to express himself creatively. When not at work, Brent can usually be found on the mat at Yoga Pod or with his dog Ezra.
